The Last Hetman
The Last Hetman. A fashion that tells an alternative history of World War II and Eastern Europe, although it is obvious that the events that will take place in the east of the continent will leave their mark on all corners of the world.
The diplomatic successes of Pavlo Skoropadskyi, as well as a series of decisions made in London and Paris, helped Ukraine gain independence, albeit not without territorial and human losses. Revanchist rhetoric swept through Kyiv’s offices and the hearts and minds of ordinary Ukrainians. Despite its deep and somewhat misguided enthusiasm, Ukraine was unable to overcome the red colossus and, having suffered enormous human losses, destroyed its economy and completely lost hope for greatness, Ukraine attempted to renew itself from within. The civil war that broke out, the secession of Crimea and Tavria, and the intervention of Romanian nationalists who had settled in Moldova a few years earlier ultimately left Ukraine in ruins.
Five years have passed since the civil war. On the eve of new presidential elections, the socialists are fighting against the democrats, the nationalists and Danylo Skoropadsky are preparing a coup d’état, each in their own way, Moldova is finally preparing to determine its future, and Crimea is ready to emerge from an era of internal political and ideological stagnation.
The end of the first half of the 20th century will be decisive for Ukraine and many other nations of Eastern Europe, and perhaps for the whole world in general. The era of eternal instability and bloodshed in Eastern Europe, which began with the emergence of the Hetmanate, must end one way or another, and only the last hetman will be able to bring it to a close!
