(Semi) Realistic Core Events
COMPATIBLE WITH ALL UPDATES AS WELL AS WITH FOCUS TREE, EVENT, STATE, AND RESEARCH MODS
NOTE: Some Cores can only be gained by occupying or annexing the state in question, sometimes requiring other state(s) to be occupied or annexed as well.
REGARDING THE MAPS: Generally speaking, the lighter the shade a state is colored, the more difficult it is to achieve a core on that state.
The goal of this mod was to help fix an issue faced by all countries, great and small: the feeling of of expanding an empire, but never really creating one. To aid this issue, I have created about 240 (and increasing) country-specific events to to add new core states to over 60 (increasing as well) countries, be they added automatically, once territory is occupied, or when it is annexed. The occurrence of gaining new cores will, of course, depend on which of the prior three conditions is required for the event to fire.
The general policy was that countries would receive cores on states which might be reasonably integratable into their growing nation. This could refer to states which posess a population ethnically similar or identical to the nation mentioned, or could include populations which could otherwise be either integratable or easily replaced by those populations favored by the current posessor of the state in question.
For example:
Persia is capable of receiving cores on land included in the nationalist idea of Greater Iran, unifying Iranian and Turkic peoples unde their cultural sphere of influence.
Italy is capable of receiving cores on Catalonia and Dalmatia, with the former being inhabited by fellow Latins who speak a very similar language and the latter being inhabited by Croatians who could possibly be encouraged by the nationalist idea of Dalmatianism to accept culturally similar Italians as their rulers.
Germany is capable of resettling ethnic Poles in western Poland and replacing them with ethnic Germans as part of Hitler’s idea of Lebensraum, and can thus gain cores there.
REGARDING GERMAN AND JAPANESE CORES:
-Germany must own Danzig to core the Czechs, thus re-establishing the German Confederation
-Japan must own most of the Philippines to get cores on Korea, thus unifying the ‘Japonics’
