PREMISE:
Following recent critical failures by the absolute Tsarist regime in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Russian Republic was proclaimed during Russia’s demise in the Great War which intended to bring the power to the people, away from such an autocratic regime. The republic was unstable, and was soon overthrown by communists. A following civil war saw the "Whites" (anti-communists) and "Reds" (pro-communists) fight over the future of Russia, and the Reds won, resulting in many significant liberal, conservative, and moderate socialist figures having to exile themselves from the country.
Now, Stalin is paranoid about his grip over the country as he believes an opposition group, possibly consisting of the same Whites as before, will ignite another civil war and topple him. Should this come to fruition, can democracy be restored once more?
While No Step Back was undoubtedly one of, if not the, best DLC for HOI4, it left something to be desired for the Russian focus tree as there was no democratic path. I have taken it upon myself to correct that mistake, and the result is this mod!
You can:
– Reform the Entente to its original extent
– Recreate the Russian Empire and make it better
– Create a Union of Sovereign Republics, peacefully integrate Eastern Europe
– And much more!
The base version of this mod is English only, although it does have a Russian and Chinese submod. If you would like to create your own localization, or any other submods, you can!
And of course, bug reports are greatly appreciated.

And yes, this mod absolutely needs No Step Back to work. If you do not have it, the branch will not be shown as the democratic path is within the "Beaten, but not Defeated" sub branch.
