The Lore:
In 1980 the USA received satellite information that the USSR had launched 13 nuclear weapons at the east coast.
The USA striked back with around 200-750 nuclear weapons targeting large cities and military bases, then the USSR also striked back with around 350-1000 nuclear weapons. The war wasn’t total world nuclear apocolypse but destroyed northern hempisphere.
