Description:

This mod aims to diversify infantry units by adding several new and distinctive infantry battalions.
The AI will not use these units (confirmed by observing historical mode until around 1940, during which no major nation adopted them).
Some units require equipment such as anti‑tank guns or tanks. If the corresponding technologies are not researched, these battalions cannot be used in division templates.

Added Units

Light Infantry Battalion:
An infantry unit focused on battlefield flexibility.
It has low supply consumption, benefits from terrain modifiers, and uses combat width 1, allowing highly flexible division designs.
However, due to a lack of heavy equipment, it struggles in anti‑armor and defensive combat, and its small size results in low staying power.

Heavy Infantry Battalion:
A heavily equipped infantry unit specialized in defensive operations.
It gains bonuses from entrenchment and defensive terrain.
However, it has high supply consumption and requires anti‑tank guns. Its combat width of 3 may limit division design, and its mobility is reduced in certain terrain.
※ Requires the Anti‑Tank Gun Production technology to use in templates.

Reinforced Infantry Battalion:
An infantry unit with a large reserve manpower pool, making it resistant to attrition.
It demands more equipment and manpower but maintains combat width 2 while offering higher durability.
Its combat performance is nearly identical to standard infantry, making its cost‑effectiveness poor, and its organization is slightly lower than regular infantry.

Garrison Battalion:
A low‑cost unit responsible for border security and occupation policing.
It is extremely fragile in combat and should not be deployed on the front lines.

Home Guard Battalion
An improvised local defense force composed of police, militia groups, and sometimes even “unofficial vigilantes.”
Their equipment is poor but they can be mobilized easily.
They perform poorly in most terrain due to insufficient military training, but may unexpectedly hold their ground in urban defense.

Tank‑Supported Infantry Battalion:
An infantry battalion supported by various types of tanks.
Its combat performance is enhanced by the attached armor.
Unlike tank battalions, it does not require fuel, but its supply usage is high.
Due to limited experience with combined‑arms operations, its initial attack values are low, but it benefits from both infantry and armor research and doctrines, giving it strong growth potential.
※ Requires the relevant tank designs to use in templates.

Forward Headquarters (Regimental Support):
A forward detachment of the regimental headquarters deployed near the front line.
Provides Command & Control and Recovery Rate. It also improves Reconnaissance and Initiative.
However, the presence of headquarters personnel and equipment near the front creates a vulnerability, increasing Combat Width by 2.

Semi-Armored Headquarters (Regimental Support):
A forward headquarters with part of its personnel and equipment mounted in armored cars.
Provides Command & Control and Recovery Rate. Armored-car reconnaissance and messenger duties further improve Reconnaissance and Initiative.
Its increased mobility and protection reduce the Combat Width penalty to 1.
※Requires Armored Car Production technology.

Armored Headquarters (Regimental Support):
A forward headquarters with most of its personnel and equipment mounted in armored personnel carriers.
Provides Command & Control and Recovery Rate. Reconnaissance and messenger duties conducted with armored personnel carriers further improve Reconnaissance and Initiative.
Its superior mobility and protection allow it to be deployed without increasing Combat Width.
Requires Mechanized Equipment Production technology.

Reserve Personnel (Regimental Support):
Reserve troops maintained by the regiment. A portion of the unit is motorized to enable rapid reinforcement during combat.
Greatly increases Unit HP, but reduces Command & Control.
Since these troops do not enter combat until they are needed, they do not increase Combat Width but contribute very little to offensive combat performance.

Light Support Company (Regimental Support):
A general-purpose support unit consisting of improvised engineers equipped with shovels, medics providing first aid, messengers, and ad hoc reconnaissance teams.
Provides small bonuses to Unit HP, Entrenchment, Initiative, and related support capabilities.
Can be formed using only Infantry Equipment.
