OWB – Vengeance in Venom
Almost a century and a half ago, the Vipers – a raider-tribe dedicated to the capricious Great Snake – terrorized Southern California, kidnapping traders and travellers and sacrificing them to their deity. Then they turned their ire on the Brotherhood, and killed Elder Maxson II. In response, they were almost exterminated, scattered across the Wasteland. They became divided – Dissolute.
But times have changed. In the Wastes of Nevada, the Vipers were revitalized by Adder Faust, using the shelter of the Serpent’s Cradle to breed more mutant pit-vipers, the sources of the Vipers’ infamous paralytic venom, and rebuild his gang’s strength. Although Adder is dead, and the Nevada Vipers now divided between his raider-daughter Veronica Faust and his pious former lover the High Priestess Sabine O’Hare, the time when the Viper once more strikes out at the Big Circle draws nigh.
In the Visions of the Summoning, the possibilities multiply, tongue-forks in the future: will the Vipers manage to fend off New Reno and Vault City? Will the Vipers be dragged into coming war along the Colorado? Will they let it consume them, or triumph even over the giants of the Wasteland? Will they finally achieve their Vengeance in Venom?
The mod has now been updated for 1.19 and the latest OWB patch. There shouldn’t be any issues, but make sure to report any you find in the comments below!
Hi, Takasaki here, the sole developer of Vengeance in Venom. This mod originated as a simple project to learn Hoi4 modding, but as you can see it has obviously ballooned in scope! Although I have experience modding for other paradox games it has been an interesting road figuring out how best to design a tree of this scale. With that in mind, there are bound to be strange ideas and executions, issues and odd implementations, and I’m sure deep narrative and design issues that you could probably make a video essay about. Nonetheless I hope that you will all enjoy what is there!
Additionally, NO AI was used in the creation of this mod – despite my unfortunate habit on using lots of – dashes in my writing (and there being a LOT of writing). I stake my reputation on it, I swear on my mums life, etc etc.

- Destroy all you have known, and from the ashes built the Viper Cohort, a loyal subject of the Legion under Levi Cazalla! Conquer Cascadia and build a state that can carry out Caesar’s New Synthesis… and, perhaps, usurp it.
- Disappoint Ulysses twice in one playthrough!
- Confront an ancient enemy of the Wasteland!
- Slug it out with the Legion at the apex of their power!
