Vera Vexilla
Vera Vexilla is a comprehensive flag overhaul mod dedicated to bringing proper, historically grounded national flags to Hearts of Iron IV. Say goodbye to saturated shading, low-resolution Iran, and Paradox’s often questionable ideological variants. All flags have been completely changed or upgraded.
Fixes color accuracy: Corrects brightness, saturation, and hue issues across hundreds of flags so they match real-world references and look crisp in-game.
Enforces historical accuracy: Replaces anachronistic or simplified designs with period-appropriate flags used by the nations of the world during the era (and their immediate post or pre-war transitions where relevant).
Realistic ideological variants: Replaces Paradox’s generic or fictional "in-house" ideological/alternate-history variants with actual historical flags used by governments-in-exile, resistance movements, puppet states, and ideological factions. These are all drawn from real sources.
Vera Vexilla aims to be the definitive flag improvement mod; lightweight, versatile in use with your favorite vanilla mods, and Ironman compatible. Some flags in this mod were recreated by me from scratch from low-resolution sources, and thus I ask that anyone wishing to include this mod in a compilation or for their own mod credit and link this mod.
